Without this plan, your system will be a local alarm only. Also, professional installation with Vivint is now free. Frontpoint no longer offers the Protect plan and now offers monthly contracts.

In this review, I’m comparing a customized security system from #Frontpoint with the Basic Security System from #Vivint. Both companies include cellular backup with their systems, which is great because it means that my system will stay on even if the power goes out.

While #Vivint requires long-term contracts, after a recent update, you can buy #Frontpoint on a monthly basis. One of the biggest differences between Frontpoint and Vivint concerns installation. Frontpoint has DIY installation, while Vivint requires that a professional installs your system for free. On the other hand, Vivint allows you to self-monitor through your app, while Frontpoint requires that you pay a monthly subscription fee for professional monitoring. Both companies have great apps, but only Frontpoint has positive customer support reviews.
