In this video we teach you how to connect the Ecobee SmartSensor which is a remote sensor that connects to your Ecobee Smart Thermostat or Ecobee 3 Lite Thermostat and remotely monitors both temperature and occupancy wherever it is placed.
With the Ecobee Sensor you can both monitor and control the temperature in other parts of your home for better comfort in the areas you place the SmartSensors.
The temperature from the Ecobee Sensor is reported back to the Ecobee Smart Thermostat and will show up on the Ecobee App or can be accessed in the Thermostat Settings. Because each Ecobee Sensor also has a motion/occupancy sensor built in it can be set to automatically adjust the temperature to the rooms the thermostat or Smart Sensor detects that you are occupying.
To Connect Ecobee Sensor:
1. You will need to have your Ecobee Smart Thermostat set up and installed on the Ecobee app, and connected to wifi.
2. Open the Ecobee App and click the + symbol in the upper right hand corner of the app.
3. Then select “Sensor” from the Menu.
4. Then Select the “SmartSensor” option if you are connecting your Ecobee Sensor to a newer Ecobee Thermostat like the Ecobee SmartThermostat or Ecobee 3 Lite Thermostat.
5. Click next/continue and then Scan the QR code on the Ecobee Sensor when prompted.
6. Pull the plastic battery tab out from the back of the device to activate it and connect it to the Ecobee Thermostat.
7. Give your Ecobee Smart Sensor a name.
8. Select which comfort modes you would like the Ecobee Sensor to be active.
9. Place your sensor. Congratulations now your Ecobee Sensor is connected to your Ecobee Thermostat.
